چکیده
Phytoremediation is limited when heavy metals reduce soil quality and, subsequently, inhibit plant growth. In this study, we evaluated the use of attapulgite and bentonite as amendments in contaminated with multiple metals, to improve phytoremediation capacity Vetiver grass Indian mustard. A 21-day greenhouse study was undertaken, investigate tolerance heavy-metal-contaminated soil, well heavy-metal absorption roots shoots. The results showed a generally higher root-uptake rate for Cr, Cu, Co, Ni, Zn grass. Overall, highest 1.37, 2.79, 1.39, 2.48 3.51 mg/kg, respectively, Clay minerals inhibited translocation some metals. addition improved while Vetiver’s Cu Zn. factor Ni one treatments 2, indicating that phytoextraction by Our confirm at 2.5% (w/w) can successfully phytostabilization mustard no significant metal uptake could be detected inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES), despite bentonite. This research contributes knowledge repository suitable properties

Nutritional and Antinutritional Components of Vetiver Grass (Chrysopogon zizanioides L. Roberty) at Different Stages of Growth
Vetiver grass was harvested at 4, 6 and 8-week old re-growth. The chemical composition and quantitative analyses of anti-nutritional components were determined. The result showed that dry matter and fiber content increased with age while crude protein, mineral content and anti-nutritional components reduced with age. It was concluded that age of re-growth significantly affect the nutrient and a...
متن کاملNitric oxide production induced by heavy metals in Brassica juncea L. Czern. and Pisum sativum L
In plants, nitric oxide (NO) has multiple roles in defence reactions under abiotic stresses, including heavy metal load. Literature data suggest that there is a causal relationship between NO and iron metabolism but the effects of essential micronutrients/toxic heavy metals on NO production have not been investigated. In this study our aim is to demonstrate the possible role of NO in the plant ...

Due to the economic interests in vetiver, Chrysopogon zizanioides (L.) Roberty, molecular and chemical studies are essential to generate information for its sustainable exploitation. The aim of this study was to undertake a molecular and chemical characterization of vetiver accessions of the active germplasm bank of the Universidade Federal de Sergipe. The molecular characteristics of the acces...
متن کاملChemical composition and biological properties of Chrysopogon zizanioides (L.) Roberty syn. Vetiveria zizanioides (L.) Nash- A Review
Vetiver [Chrysopogon zizanioides (L.) Roberty syn. Vetiveria zizanioides (L.) Nash] commonly known as khas-khas, khas, khus-khus or khus grass belongs to the family Poaceae. The roots of this grass on steam distillation yield an essential oil mainly consisting of sesquiterpenes (3-4 %), sesquiterpenols (18-25 %) and sesquiterpenones (7-8 %). Among these, the major economically important active ...
